Would you believe—the Brass Roots Trio played in the White House for the American President, his family and staff during the Christmas holidays, and the three musicians were praised lavishly for “a wonderful performance.” And would you believe—you, too, can enjoy the fabulous trio on Fripp Island on Sunday, October 20.
Art League's workshop "Watercolor Holiday with Tricks of the Trade," led by student favorite Wendy Cunico, is sure to get students in the holiday spirit with three days of creating personal, one-of-a-kind gifts. All skill levels are welcome. On day one, students will make their own holiday cards. On day two, they'll complete a full-sized, seasonal watercolor painting. And on day three, students will paint a holiday scene on a throw pillow in acrylics to display or give as a gift.

Amiri Farris takes on the world and makes art fun again
Art
By Mindy Lucas
Amiri Geuka Farris was just 17 years old when he won his first major art award as part of the Congressional Art Competition, in which a winner from each congressional district is selected, then honored at the nation’s capitol.
It was a big deal not only because Farris got to go to Washington, D.C. where he met California Congresswoman Maxine Waters and actress Sarah Jessica Parker among others, but also because no one at his West Palm Beach, Florida high school, including Farris’ principal, knew who he was or that there was such a talent in their midst.
