Each year for the film festival edition of Lowcountry Weekly we ask a number of the attending filmmakers to take part in a simple, slightly goofy little Q&A. It’s our way of breaking the ice with newcomers and catching up with old friends from past festivals. Out of the Features category Producer Hoyt Richards (left) and Director David Spaltro responded. Richards’ “Intersection” is a romantic thriller with a twist that’s been racking up awards all over the festival circuit.

On Saturday, February 13^th, Myrtle Beach native Vanna White will receive the Spirit & Pride of South Carolina Award at the 10^th Annual Beaufort International Film Festival Awards Ceremony.

Dear Aunt Bossy,

Long time reader, first time writer.

I'm a third generation Beaufortonian and would normally go to my family and friends for advice, but presently I find myself alone in the crowd.

Sleepless in Seattle is one of my favorite rom/com movies, ever. And my favorite quote comes from Rosie O'Donnell's caustic, yet lovable character, Becky. After reading a letter she and Meg Ryan's Annie, assumed came from Mr. Sleepless himself (instead of his eight-year-old son), she reminds us “verbal ability is a highly overrated thing in a guy, and it’s our pathetic need for it that gets us into to so much trouble in the first place.” Amen, Becky. Amen and God Bless, Nora Ephron, actually.
