As a longtime connoisseur of armchair analysis, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many “thinking people” simultaneously scratching their heads over a single phenomenon as the one called Donald Trump.

Ka-booooom. In this era of political bomb throwing, with negative ads and rancor having sadly demonstrated their grating effectiveness, it is worth considering how we came to so admire the power of a bomb. Or, frequently, clusters of them.

Don't you just love the sunshine? I'm totally solar powered. I have to admit, I've been feeling a bit anti-social during the past few cold and dark winter months. And, I've been spending too much time at home eating my favorite comfort foods. Warm and bright days have been so good for my psyche and I'm feeling inspired again. This week I'm sharing three of my favorite (and delicious) slim-down salad recipes. Soon we'll be able to buy fresh spring and summer vegetables locally. Isn't it wonderful?

Crippling Attitudes

Dear Aunt Bossy,

I have a friend who has a child who was born with a severe physical disability. I can’t imagine anything more painful because we want the best for our children. However, this friend has made her child’s handicap her claim to fame. It is all she talks about, and she has devoted much of her life to making sure her son is included in every activity, even if it means radically adjusting the activities of the other kids involved.
