The Society of Bluffton Artists presents “A Little This, A Little That,” the oil and watercolor paintings of renowned artist and art instructor Dennis Lake.
The Parish Church of St. Helena will present a free organ performance April 13 at 7:00 P.M. by S. Wayne Foster, organist-in-residence of First Congregational Church of Los Angeles.
LowCountry Children’s Chorus will be presenting its 10th Anniversary Spring Concert on Saturday, April 28, at 3:00 pm at The Baptist Church of Beaufort, 600 Charles Street. No admission/Donations encouraged.
Even when John Morris Russell speaks to a small group, there is an energy level that cannot be denied. The newly named music director and principal conductor of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra simply can’t seem to help himself as he waves his arms and gestures into the air, with expressions of passion and joy, as if he were on stage conducting a Joseph Haydn symphony.
The rare harmonium, invented in the 1840’s, will make a Beaufort appearance at this year’s final USCB Festival Series concert. When was the last time you saw a harmonium? When was the last time you heard a harmonium? When was the last time you saw and heard a harmonium in Beaufort? When is the next likely opportunity you will have to see and hear one played by an exceptional pianist here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina? It most certainly will not be soon. So plan now to be in the audience on Sunday, April 29 at five o’clock.
Awards aplenty accrue for Mary Alice Monroe — a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author; several time winner of the Southern Independent Book Alliance (SIBA) award; International Book Award for Green Fiction. Best award of all for the USCB Lunch With Author Series is her appearance as guest author for the SIXTH time. Monroe is a talented writer and an inspiring speaker.
