Named "€˜Best Group/Duo"€™ in the 2014 International Acoustic Music Awards, acoustic-duo Ryanhood got their first break more than a decade ago as street-performers at Boston'€™s Quincy Market. It was there that they were spotted by a college booking agent and thrust into the college-touring scene, where Campus Activities Magazine would name them "€œone of the most requested acts by college buyers all across the country."€

Everyone has heard of Beethoven. He wrote the famous "€œV for Victory" tune and a bunch of other stuff. A dog movie was named after him. In real life (1770-1827) he was a slob with bad hair who was such a lousy neighbor and tenant that he was forced to move more than forty times. He dressed shabbily, was rude and disobedient, and cheated his publishers when he could. What could a man such as this have to offer us in 2018?

World-class jazz saxophonist Thom Chambers will headline Notes: An Evening of Musical Storytelling & Casual Conversation to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Beaufort County on January 12th. Known for his captivating showmanship, Thom will be joined by an ensemble of musicians for an entertaining night of jazz, local art, great food, drink . . . and, of course, casual conversation.
