Art League of Hilton Head presents Judy Blahut Fractured Shells: Seeing the Unseen this April at Art League Gallery. Living on Hilton Head Island, with all of its raw natural beauty, inspired artist Judy Blahut to create Fractured Shells. Blahut explains her fascination with shells and sea creatures led her to “take these beautiful life forms and transform them into a unique exploration of line and form. Each shell or coral bring a different story and message.”

The Beaufort Art Association’s 57th Annual Spring Show will be open to the public from Wednesday, March 28, through Saturday, March 31, from 10 am to 7 pm at Tabby Place, 913 Port Republic St. in downtown Beaufort. Local artists will present their finest works for exhibit and sale during the show. Oils, acrylics, watercolors, photography, mixed media, pottery, woodturning, jewelry, and metal sculpture are among the artforms featured. Admission is free and open to the public.

Fleetwood Covington’s Blues Soaked Art Comes to USCB

I knew of Fleetwood Covington long before I finally met him prior to his 2015 show at the Thibault Gallery on Bay Street. Mostly I knew of him through his brother Vince as well as his sister-in-law – my longtime Lowcountry Weekly colleague – Debbi Covington. “Fleetwood’s quite a character,” she told me. I figured he had to be with a name like Fleetwood. I mean, how many Fleetwoods do you meet in life? And as if that were not enigmatic enough, in addition to being an artist with a considerable following, he’s also a musician, songwriter and Blues fanatic.
Art League of Hilton Head and RBC Heritage Golf Tournament, presented by Boeing, team up for a once-in-a-lifetime art exhibition. The Art of Golf, Celebrating 50 Years of Golf Champions will feature reproductions of the winner’s portraits from the last fifty years of the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament. This exhibition will be one of many celebrations of RBC Heritage’s golden anniversary, Cheers to 50 Years!
