The Society of Bluffton Artists Gallery welcomes Margaret Crawford as featured artist from September 8 through October 4. Originally from New Jersey, Margaret and her family have vacationed in the Lowcountry since the early seventies, eventually moving to Hilton Head full time. An accomplished painter, she truly loves the South and is inspired to interpret her beautiful surroundings on watercolor paper and canvas, motivating her to share her latest work in this show called Southern Skies and Southern Ties.
A high-speed car chase in the dead of night, a love triangle, drug dealers gone wild, a vengeful cousin, and a disembodied spirit returning for retribution . . . Will there be devotion or betrayal? A descent or ascension? A rebirth or painful death? Or all of the above?
This month, Lowcountry audiences can enjoy a lively performance of the Tony-award- winning comedy Butterflies Are Free and partake in a dinner or brunch at either of two area venues.
David Millman at the Art League of Hilton Head Gallery
David Millman gives a first impression of being quiet and conservative. A gregarious laugh soon corrects that misinterpretation. Lively in both thought and art, he embodies the spirit of an artist with expert ability across many disciplines, including sculpture, photography, illustration and music.
“We started this recording last summer at a studio on Hilton Head called The Sound,” says Vic Varner. “We laid down 27 tracks hoping for five good ones, instead we got lucky and have ten.”
Varner and his band V will officially launch their new CD at the Jazz Corner on Hilton Head on August 7th and 8th.
