Gardens here in the South Carolina coastal plain can make for quite a challenge for the gardener. While much of the world rejoices at summer’s garden bounty, here we find that the exuberant display of spring and much of our delicious late-spring produce begin to fade as the intense heat and frequent rains end much of the show and bring disease and destruction into the garden.
As you may remember, the goal of Wholly Holistics is to offer insights into life from alternative points of view. In keeping with that focus, today we’ll travel back in time – way back, 3,000 years – to ancient, exotic India to explore one of the world’s oldest holistic (whole body) healing systems, Ayurveda.

You must see ‘Glimpses of Gullah,’ an exhibition of art by Samantha Claar at Art League Gallery this July. Her work is inspired by the Gullah people of the local islands, and their rich and storied culture and history. Her passion and reverence for the people are evident as she describes them: “A formidable force in the life we appreciate in Georgia and South Carolina.” 
Minto Communities USA and Margaritaville Holdings will debut nine fully furnished model homes at LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE Hilton Head on Saturday, June 30, from 10 am to 4 pm. The grand opening celebration will include a live band, steel drum entertainment, games, food and incredible giveaways.

It's rare, and actually quite wonderful when it happens, for Vince and me to be home alone for a few days without a catering event on my calendar. I love to cook for us. When we were dating and I was living in Raleigh, I spent hours planning menus for Vince's weekend visits.
