Deana Martin is a world-class entertainer equally comfortable with a celebrated symphony at a legendary concert hall or on an intimate cabaret stage with a swinging jazz quintet. She’s a New York Times best-selling author, a gifted actor, a vocalist of incredible depth and passion and a licensed pilot. When talent is part of the family pedigree, it can be difficult for an artist to forge an individual path, but Deana Martin has successfully navigated that tricky terrain. And on September 25th, she’s coming to the USCB Center for the Arts.
The stars will soon shine brightly at Beaufort’s historic Arsenal. That’s because the Beaufort History Museum (BHM) is planning a book signing reception in the Arsenal courtyard for celebrated local writer Bernie Schein, showcasing the launch of his new book, Famous All Over Town.
It’s “Sea Island September” at the Arts Council of Beaufort County, says Managing Director Laura Maxey. “We have a very talented group of artists who are coming together to exhibit their work in our ARTworks gallery this month. It will be fun to see each artist’s unique vision of the world around them,” she continues.
Ordinary images of everyday life cause Beaufort Art Association’s featured artist Patricia Walsh to grab her brush, oils and canvas and start painting.

Shakespeare Rep has announced its 2014-15 season line-up. A Season of Wonders will pair two enchanting romantic comedies that spotlight the magic of love: Almost, Maine by John Cariani and William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
