The Society of Bluffton Artists Annual Judged Show held its awards presentation and reception last week with a grand crowd of artists and admirers. This year’s judge, acclaimed artist Linda Sheppard of Beaufort, gave a wonderful explanation of why each of her choices were made. The awards presented were as follows:
BEST OF SHOW - HYDRANGEA COTTAGE - OIL - BONNIE MASON
The Society of Bluffton Artists presents “Eyes on the Lowcountry,” a collection of photographs by two accomplished artists, Tom Korbutt and Wes Grady. This show, featuring images of the compelling natural beauty of our area, will be on display from January 7 through February 3.
There are two more opportunities in December to experience the wonder of Met Opera Live in HD at the USCB Center for the Arts. Both operas are by Verdi.
The Music Ministry at The Baptist Church of Beaufort is delighted to offer the community a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the “sounds of the season” at its Keyboards at Christmas Concert. The program features seven keyboardists from the BCOB staff and congregation who will be sharing instrumental music in a variety of configurations using four pianos, pipe organ, and synthesizer---around 660 keys with all of them “in action” on a few numbers!
Beaufort Symphony Orchestra is bursting with the season's spirit as they usher in the holidays with delicious hot chocolate, cookies, and Merry Christmas music during their “’Tis the Season” concerts. These performances are the perfect place to bring the family for some warm holiday cheer.
The Jazz Corner. For this Beaufortonian, it’s been a hidden treasure. For most islanders on Hilton Head, it’s a venue they wish was still a secret. But it’s no secret anymore. It’s a world-wide phenomenon and one of the top jazz clubs in the country.
