“The Beaufort Council of Garden Clubs is proud to host a National Garden Club accredited standard flower show right here in Beaufort,” says Norma Miller, President of the Council. “This flower show is our gift to the people of Beaufort County and its visitors. Admission is free and open to the public.”

“This is the first standard flower show in Beaufort in decades. The 300 plus members of the Council’s seven garden clubs will be presenting a flower show which complies with the National Garden Club’s guidelines. All entries will be judged by a panel of 9 professional judges,” says the show’s chairman and organizer, Victoria Bergesen. “There will be 36 creative full size and miniature designs, educational tables and photographs which use the 500 year history of Beaufort as their inspiration. Horticultural entries will consist of cut stems, blooms and branches, containers large and small, and each will be accompanied by a tag with the botanical and common name of the exhibit. This is a wonderful opportunity to see and record what can be successfully grown here.”

The show also celebrates Earth Day, and will be presented at the Walsh Palmetto Room at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Lady’s Island Drive from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, April 22^nd. All entries will have been judged and ribbons awarded. Admission is free and there is plenty of parking.
