Penn Center is hosting two amazing singer-songwriters in one evening of entertainment! Lowcountry jazz singer Jan Spencer captivates audiences as she sings with effortless ease.
The Jazz Connection of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra is proud to present a “Sentimental Journey: The Songs of World War II”, a star-studded evening featuring Ray Charles and Lynn Roberts in concert, performing with an all-star band headed by local favorite, Bob Alberti. The performance is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13th at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort on Folly Field Road. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
“Dream of America,” the theme of the 2007-2008 Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra season, will also be the featured work of the final subscription performance of the year.
The Beaufort Orchestra’s goin’ to Broadway and Hollywood for the final concerts of the 2007-008 concert season!! Actually, those favorites, old and new, are coming to the stage of the USCB Performing Arts Center on May 8th and May 11th and we want YOU to be in the audience. Frederick Devyatkin, Musical Director of the orchestra, says music of today is built on the past – composers working on Broadway and in Hollywood just can’t help but be influenced by the legacy of Gilbert and Sullivan, Irving Berlin, Gershwin and a host of others who were wildly popular in their time.
On Thursday, May 1st, Beaufort Performing Arts is happy to present Say Goodnight, Gracie! This hit Broadway play invites you to spend a hilarious, heart-warming evening in the uplifting company of the world’s favorite–and funniest—centenarian: George Burns! The performance will take place at USCB in downtown Beaufort at 8 pm.
