Duncan Sheik & Meredith Inglesby Come Home for a Great Cause – The Arts Center!
They grew up with the beach as their hometown backdrop, but with the arts as a guiding force in their creative journeys. Both Duncan Sheik and Meredith Inglesby are hometown success stories, having each moved to New York and conquered the Big Apple. Now they're back to celebrate the Arts Center, with a special performance at its Spring Gala, April 6.
The SOBA Gallery presents a unique exhibit "Side by Side."
The Society of Bluffton Artists presents "Side by Side," their first show of its kind. Photographers and traditional artists have teamed up – with each artist interpreting the photograph they have chosen in his or her preferred medium.
St. Helena Island resident Chris Kirk will be the featured artist.
The Colleton Museum's "Featured Artist" show in April will exhibit the Lowcountry photography of Chris Kirk. Chris' photographic works include landscapes, nature, coastal, and wildlife scenes.
The painting on our cover is "Lipsitz," by Audrey Montgomery. It took the "Best of Show, Non-Juried" prize at the 52nd Annual Beaufort Art Association Spring Show, which wrapped up last week. Congratulations to Audrey and all our friends at the BAA!
By Faith, Not by Sight
Music
A very special performer will thrill Lowcountry audiences March 15th and 16th when Scott MacIntyre takes the stage. Readers may remember Scott as a finalist from season eight of American Idol, where he sang and played the piano like a virtuoso. Besides being an accomplished musician, Scott is an author and a motivational speaker who travels the world inspiring people with his talent, his deep faith, and his adventurous spirit. Scott MacIntyre also happens to be blind.
Ten years after making its Lowcountry debut, the Duke Symphony Orchestra will return March 23 to perform in the downtown Beaufort venue where they presented their first three concerts.
