One thing I love about the Lowcountry is that it's sophisticated enough to attract fascinating, accomplished people from all over . . . and "small town" enough that you actually get to meet most of them at some point. I've just sat down for breakfast at Blackstone's with a man who's performed for three American presidents – Hilton Head jazz legend Bob Masteller.
Everyone who was in the audience clapping wildly following Tessa Lark's 2013 debut performance in Beaufort will want to be in the same spot at the USCB Center for the Arts on Sunday, March 9 at 5 pm.
The Society of Bluffton Artists presents "My Visions," a collection of original oil and watercolor paintings by local artist Kenneth Bullard, on display from March 3 through April 5.
A chance meeting at an inn in northern California brings Doris, a stay-at-home mom, and George, an accountant and dedicated family man, together for one passionate night that turns into a 25-year affair in the romantic comedy, "Same Time Next Year," at the USCB Center for the Arts on Feb. 21, 22 and 23.
Mark February 23rd in your calendars for Ms. Yoonjung (Yoonie to you) Han, as she steps onto the Fripp Friends of Music stage and makes her Lowcountry debut. A Steinway Artist & one of the most celebrated classical pianists of our time, her list of first prizes from distinguished competitions around the globe is simply astounding for one so young, but no less amazing than the sheer poetry she evokes from the keyboard!
Violinist Yuriy Bekker, concertmaster for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Acting Artistic Director, will be the guest artist when the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra performs "Beethoven Bash" at USCB Center for the Arts on Thursday, Feb. 27 and Sunday, March 3.
