The 12th Annual Beaufort International Film Festival kicks off with an opening night gala February 21st followed by three days packed with screenings, special events and plenty of interaction with perhaps the largest class of attending filmmakers in festival history, all at the USCB Center for the Arts.

The scene takes place in downtown Beaufort in the wee small hours of a clear February night. A small group of people spill out of Breakwater Restaurant and Bar onto the deserted sidewalks of Carteret Street. The last of the After Party holdouts mill about and shuffle, exchange hugs, promises, last laughs and a few tears. Wearily and reluctantly they part and fade into the night and the 11th annual Beaufort International Film Festival is officially over.

Once again, its a wrap. The 11th annual Beaufort International Film Festival is in the books. What a party: five days, 40 films, dozens of filmmakers actors, writers, producers, animators and editors. Legions of volunteers. And thousands of satisfied moviegoers. Each year event directors Ron and Rebecca Tucker (left) manage to raise the bar.
