The concert is billed this year as CELEBRATING THE SEASON WITH LOWCOUNTRY CHILDREN’S CHORUS AND CELEBRATION BRASS under the direction of Dr. Melanie Williams and accompanied by Linda Keene.                                                                                                                                                        The holiday concert showcases a variety of styles of choral music for treble voices and ranges, from the romantic period to the present. Celebration Brass, a professional brass quartet from Savannah, will be featured, as well members of the choral and string program at Beaufort Middle School, under the direction of Joseph Wargo.                                                             

     Admission is $5 per person. Tickets may be purchased in advance at The Baptist Church of Beaufort’s Main Office, the Beaufort Visitor’s Center, or at the door.                              
Lowcountry Children’s Chorus has been selected to participate in the Heritage/Field Studies National Children’s Choral Festival at Carnegie Hall on April 25, 2010.  Singers in this mass choir of about 200 participants will be working under the direction of Henry Leck, a  renowned conductor and champion of children’s choirs.                                                                     
      LowCountry Children’s Chorus has begun its eighth year of music-making here in Beaufort County and has engaged in an impressive performance history under the direction of Dr. Melanie Williams and accompanied by Linda Keene.  The choir most recently sang with composer Dan Goeller in the presentation of his work, In His Own Words, and recorded a CD with Evelene Stephenson and Friends for the Spirit of Old Beaufort.  Other performance opportunities include:                                                                                                                               

*Singing with American Boychoir ,Charlotte Children’s Choir, and Beaufort and Hilton Head Orchestras                                                                                                                                     *Performing with The Baptist Church of Beaufort’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat                                                                                                                                *Concertizing in the Piccolo Spoleto Arts Festival in Charleston, SC                                               *Singing as featured presenter in Field Studies National Children’s Choir Festival at Carnegie Hall in 2006                                                                                                                                       *Participating in Children in Harmony Choral Festival at DisneyWorld                                              *And serving the community as they share their song in assisted living communities throughout the county, in churches and schools, and in community festivals.                                                         LCCC is a community children’s chorus which serves 35-40 young treble singers (boys and girls ages 9-16) throughout the Lowcountry region and is open to auditions for new singers each fall and spring semester.  They sing a variety of literature from the Renaissance to the contemporary and exist to enrich the lives of the children who participate and the audiences who “lend an ear.”
